4 cups sugar
1 cup milk
1 cup butter
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 oz Baker's Chocolate
12 oz milk chocolate chips
12 oz semi sweet choc chips
2 1/2 cups miniature marshmallows
1 cup nuts optional
Over medium heat, bring milk, butter, sugar and vanilla to a boil. Boil 2 minutes- stirring constantly. Turn off heat. Add marshmallows, chocolate chips, and Baker's chocolate one ingredient at a time. Stir until melted. Add nuts. Pour into 9 x 12 pan. Refrigerate until hardened.
Be sure to have all ingredients ready.

Old Fashioned Sugar Cookies
This recipe was given to me by the Mom of an old friend.
4 Cups flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1 cup soft butter
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 egg
1/2 cup dairy sour cream
1 teaspoon vanilla
Sift flour with baking powder, salt, soda, and nutmeg; set aside.
In large bowl of electric mixer at medium speed, beat butter, sugar, and egg until light and fluffy.
At low speed, beat in sour cream and vanilla until smooth.
Gradually add flour mixture beating until well combined. Mixture will be in balls and clumps. Don't be upset. You have to roll this out like a pie crust. Separate into 1/4 then refrigerate for several hours. Roll out on floured surface. Cut out. Bake at 375 for 7 minutes.

When I was in high school just about eons ago, I had a teacher who was so strict that you were afraid to even breathe. Live Life to the Fullest!
Recently, my family received a wake up call about life- that it's important and precious just to be together. With the endless problems, situations, and stresses that life can sometimes deliver to us, we often don't realize that life is a gift that can be taken away at any time. We always need to remember to say "I Love You" every time we have the chance, and if there isn't a chance then create one. Live your life without regret!

In light of Thanksgiving, I would like to express what I am thankful for:
I am thankful for the little boy who interrupted me during story time 5 times to tell me something very important and when I finally asked him what he would like to say, he said "You look sooooo beautiful today!"
I am thankful for the junior high students who walk by and pretend to ignore me as I say "Good Morning", but they are the first to notice if you are feeling down.
I am thankful for the student who never really spoke to me all year but who wrote me an incredible letter that she gave me on the last day of school. In this letter, she told me that library time was her favorite class and that she wished she didn't have to take summer vacation.
I am thankful for the students who brought me in what they called the Library Parthenon. They told me they had just finished a Parthenon with their class in art and then proceeded to design their own version, on their own time, because they wanted the library to have something special.
I am thankful when the book that I am reading during story time is so good that even the ornery, fidgety students sit perfectly still. Pure magic!
